Today, or rather yesterday according to Slovenia’s time, I had the first real chance to test my new camera and I must say that I’m impressed. I really like the fact that I can see real time the effects of settings changes in the EVF or on the back screen. Looking through EVF instead of prism kind of brings me back to the days of my first digital camera and I must say I rather like that. It’s nice to have a tool that feels professional but can be used on the fly as well without the sometimes nagging feeling of necessity, especially when it’s the day off, when I’m supposed to be relaxed and having fun. Which I did.
So, you’re wondering, what happened? Today I went with the flow: a friend asked me couple of days ago if I wanted to go to Vransko this Saturday and on something else next Saturday and since I’m all too often alone I naturally said yes. I didn’t know what it will have been about, but since it’s Aljaž who I’m talking about I suspected, that it will be about cars or something.
It was about cars. Today was Seat Cupra day on Vransko. Radio1 had prepared an event on which someone would win a car and it was all about Seat cars as well.
For a change I wasn’t just an observer or merely a busy photographer. It’s not that I wouldn’t have fun doing that, I would, I really love taking photos. But this time I actually said “well, I’m here, and I don’t have to drive (though I could), but I could get into that fast car to get driven around the track with one of three (as far as I was aware) cars who were beasts as far as engine is concerned. One had 330 horse powers under the bonnet. That was a thrilling ride.
Another thing I really enjoyed about today was the fact that the day started with rain and ended up sunny. The reason why I love that is because cars there still had some raindrops on the surface when the sun came out and with that I got a tad more detail on the photos; not to mention that there was more reflection and light plays from the wet tarmac. It was a truly nice day today.
I hope you’ll enjoy the photos.
