This time I started with a slightly modified clip from Doctor Who. Yes, I like the show, I like the Doctor. But this time I’m not going to talk about how I love the show; rather about the what my thoughts are on what’s been going on in the World and possibly yet another impending war.
Yesterday I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t stop thinking about the loonacies that have been happening and all the other reactions of individuals as well as peoples in the last 20-ish years at least, if not longer. Actually, from the historical perspective this now seems very very … sad.
It’s like… Have y’all really not learned anything?
Let me explain. World War I and the terrible things that have happened then could teach people, that revenge is no good and war only causes destruction, weeping, remorse, loss,… There’s nothing good about it. I really do think that if people who caused it knew what will have happened, would never act as they did and decide as they did. But they didn’t learn. Power on the thrones of nations and longing for more power and control did it again. And so the World went into another World War. Do you think they learned anything? No. Cold War happened. You think that they stopped there. Nope. You might think that this is the longest period of peace, as they were teaching you in school. It isn’t. They’ve been fighting, for whatever reason, on the fields of Balkans, Middle East, Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, etc.
Who’s they? Those who wield the power. The power that none should ever posses. You would think that since we have democracies, it’s naturally the people, citizens, voters, right? Sure, they’re part of the problem, but no. It’s mostly lobbyists who pay your representatives way more than you think they do, and those who supposedly represent us. Politicians, Judges who don’t do anything about it, and above all, Presidents, Ministers and Prime-ministers.
Some will say that if Lobbyists are really doing what I said they do, then they’re the primary culprit and even though that might be true, “our beloved representatives” are there to supposedly represent all of us and thus carry the responsibility, right? And they do say things that make things really go bad, when they mean it.
Remember Bush who after 9/11 2001 declared War on terrorists? If you don’t, please do:
Remember Obama who declared war on Syria? If you don’t, please do:

And do you remember not long ago, when Hollonde declared war on ISIS? IF you don’t, please do:
I could make you watch other documented declarations of war, but I’m sure you can find them by yourself online. What they all have in common is the deep belief, that someone from the outside trying to attack a country as if country has a soul, as if country is it’s own sentient being. And as if they are do deeply in love with that being, that when something seems to hurt it, they react as if they are her children. They react as a child might if someone hurt his mother.
The leaders of this world in this sense are like emotionally wounded children. And we all know how emotionally wounded children react, right? They stomp, they impulsively react. Like a brat they start kicking without thinking of consequences. And when they start realizing what might be happening, they can’t stop. They convince themselves, that they’re right. They convince themselves, that whatever they did was moral, it had to be. What else could have been done? What’s worse, is that they won’t go to the front lines, but like a witty young lady, they will send their younger brother to fight on their stead. They’re way too important to go there on their own. And then they’ll go and convince everyone how hurt they are and that they should be too. That they should be with her in that moment and do every thing possible to make her be better.
But this is not a family crisis. This is not a personal tragedy. To them this goes deeper. And somehow people buy that. Sure, we all want to be part of something greater than just ourselves. But hey… are you sure, that what them on the podium are telling you, is completely true and that you must obey and whatever they tell you? Do you really know them? Why do you follow them?
I know… it seems to make sense. They sound as though their story is your story. It sounds as the idea that they are speaking about can really positively change your and their future. And honestly, maybe, just maybe, they are genuinely trying to do something good… through you. They insist, it’s not for them, but for that other greater mother that envelopes you as well. The State.
And you will probably think about your identity being tied to it. To that nation, the State, that they are talking about. How could you not? You’ve lived there for your entire life. It’s your home too. And now it sounds it’s getting threatened. You were always, even as a young kid, in school and elsewhere, told, that you should protect it. That it is as or perhaps even more important than your own kin. Perhaps even more than a God you might have believed in as a kid but all the hurt that you see and that they tell you about has made you doubt it. And quite frankly, even the papers you have always remind you, that you belong to it. Perhaps even that it owns you.
What if I tell you, that all of that, which they’re selling you, is just a story to enslave you. What if I told you, that you can simply say: “NO”? What if, just for a second, you would stop and think, why on Earth are you following that bunch, that you are probably conveniently speaking against every time you have to give your tax return and when the bills come in?
Stop. Think about it. Think about all the emotional and socio-economical tangles and stories in which your leaders have entangled you. Say no. Listen again the message of The Doctor. Go, hear a soldier who once fought in war. Why put yourself into all of that? Why would you enlist into army to fight people who never hurt you? Nobody ever did anything to you, ever. So don’t. Don’t support that. Lest you will find yourself in a loop of violence that is hard to come out of. Forgive even if it’s impossible. Try to. Try to see through their world and their eyes. Do not hate. If you can’t love, try. If that doesn’t work, stop and say NO. No, I won’t be a puppet in the games of the powers that be, but shouldn’t have been.
Do not seek vengeance, not through using your kin or your subordinates if you have any, nor directly. Don’t be like a spoiled brat or like a kid who doesn’t know how to react apart from kicking and screaming and hurting other people. Don’t support them either.
When there’s a conflict to resolve, calm down first. Sit down. If you can’t face the opponent, ask a friend to come with you or hire a mediator. Resolve the conflict and move on. It’s not worth the pain and suffering that the alternative would bring about.
Be a human and treat others as humans too. Treat them as you would want you yourself to be treated. And we both know that all you really need and want is love, kindness and respect, don’t we?
So don’t. Don’t push the red button.
