Questioning Identity Papers

People have been migrating since their existence. For most of the history Europe, which now has the so called “Migrant Crisis” on its hands, people moved relatively freely and to do so they didn’t even know of passports or papers with which one could prove their identity. Passports came into existence as letters requesting safe … Read more

On Tradition

I grew up a Catholic. My parents took me to church every few Sundays. Not every week-end though. I was made to go to the sunday school, that is in my language actually called something like “Faith Education.” I didn’t really believe in God that much back then. After Confirmation my path with Catholicism somewhat … Read more

The Free-rider problem, or is it?

I was just thinking about free-rider problem. Have you ever heard someone say “… but they will free-ride on this or that …” when talking about the state created things or sometimes even private endeavors. Well, if you haven’t, I sure have. In defence of Imperial System of measurement

If you read my blog, you know I live somewhere in an obscure country of Slovenia in Europe. Therefore we use Metric system of measurement for pretty much everything. I made a filter holder a while ago, which holds a welding glass, but I have since found out that it has a few quirks. The glass unfortunately has a few imperfections, which do show in most circumstances.

Their sense of entitlement…

I hear a lot about how young people, usually those of us, who are grouped into the Millennial generation (usually those born between 1990’s and 2000’s although most stats go to 80’s as well), have a sense of entitlement, how we’re lazy as hell and how we “just don’t want to become adults.” While it’s … Read more

What we can learn about the Modern State from ISIS

I won’t argue, that ISIS and the Modern Nation-State are in any way the same, because they are not. But I will argue, that the origins of a state as an idea are much closer to that of ISIS than you might imagine. You see, the core idea and the core basic principle on which … Read more
